The Chafing Dish is a custom catering company owned and run by Chefs Bonnie Schumpp and Joan Marlow. Their combined culinary talents and individual strengths provide awesome food, which is presented beautifully. Chef Joan Marlow’s educational back ground include an associate degree in culinary arts and food service management as well as a Bachelor’s degree. Joan studied Italian cuisine in Sienna Italy. She began her culinary career working in a corporate executive café and helped facilitate large banquets. Joan also worked for a well-known Chicago catering company. She has been a certified personal chef for the past six years.
Chef Bonnie Schumpp developed her passion for cooking in the early 70’s after purchasing a set of La Cordon Blue Grand Diplome' cookbooks. She began preparing gourmet meals and experimenting with all types of food. Her experience includes designing meals served for annual award ceremonies at the Governor’s Mansion in Springfield, Illinois. Chef Schumpp completed her BA degree in 1991, pastry art classes at College of DuPage, and other classes in food preparation. Her true love is making hors d’oeuvres and desserts. Bonnie established Gourmet on the Move, Inc. a personal chef business, after early retirement from the Illinois State Police in 2002. |
